This position requires supporting family practice and walk in patients. Depending on pace, you can see between 50 and 70 patients a day. Hours of work are Monday-Friday or the full-time equivalent.  The clinic treats both patients and physicians as clients with unique needs, so it provides not just a workspace, but a place where the physician can be happy building a career.  The clinic uses Accuro EMR, and offers billing support. Payment structure is fee-for-service, split arrangement is 80/20 after the first 6 months (see incentive below) and includes all Manitoba health and private billings. The clinic also provides mentoring support to help optimize billings and ensure that the physician is paid fairly. The range of potential full-time annual earnings is $550,000-$700,000.   Incentives Available to the Physician: 90/10 split for the first 3 months, 85/15 for the next 3 months, followed by a split of 80/20. This is to assist the incoming physician with getting started at the clinic.  Clinic Details: The aesthetically pleasing clinic has 8 exam rooms, a compounding pharmacy onsite, dedicated procedure rooms, and lab nearby as well as the tools needed to practice the kind of medicine you want to practice. There are 2 family physicians currently working at the clinic.  The clinic is in a busy area of Winnipeg with other amenities nearby.   Requirements:  •  College of Family Physicians Canada (CFPC) Certified  •  College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba (CPSM) Full Licence

There are more than 20,000 patients without family doctor in the area, and more than 1,000 patients already on the clinic’s wait list just 8 weeks after opening, so building a roster will not take long.  Hours of work are normally 8-10 3-hour blocks which translate into 4-5 6-hour days including afterhours commitment as per Ontario government regulations. Hours are flexible and are set by the physician themselves. The physician can do more hours if they would prefer or less while still providing adequate care for their patients.   The clinic uses CHR EMR, and offers billing support. Payment structure is via FHO model for family practice, and fee-for-service in the Urgent Care Clinic. The split arrangement is 72.5/27.5, which will turn into 75/25 once the physician reaches a 2,000-patient roster. The Urgent Care Clinic is set up in a way that soon the cap for the physicians can be removed and there will be no penalty for rostered patients to be seen by other physicians within the urgent care clinic. The range of potential full-time annual earnings is $450,000- $550,000.  Incentives Available to the Physician: Open to discussion with serious candidates.   Clinic Details: The clinic is a new state of the art facility that has a lab and diagnostic imaging with multiple specialists on site. There is substantial support from the local hospital system with their brand-new sim lab and major development in the area.   This is a friendly group of 6 full-time family physicians and many part-time physicians working in the urgent care clinic. The clinic is a teaching site for Queen’s University. The physician will cover the full scope of the primary care clinic and will be responsible for consulting and follow-up of their registered patient, including but not limited to the workflow (referrals, documents, and lab work) generated, with the opportunity to engage in minor procedures.  This is an easy going and efficient practice with a patient-centred perspective with an outlook on quality improvements. There will be periodic meetings in the clinic to ensure quality improvement initiatives and to ensure optimization of the health of our registered patients. The physician is expected to work collaboratively with the PCN & allied health professionals to align with the concept of the Medical Home with the trajectory to improving patient care reaching a mutual agreement for cross cover during leave or absences. Hours of work are weekdays and maybe the alternate Saturday in the future. There is some flexibility with hours.  The clinic uses Ava EMR, and offers billing support. Payment structure is fee-for-service, split arrangement is 80/20, and the range of potential full-time annual earnings is $400,000-$500,000.   Clinic Details: The clinic is open 9am-6:30pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and 9am-4:30pm on Wednesdays. The clinic is used for training with a rotation of residents working there along with 1 full-time family physician.  The City of Airdrie is 15 minutes from Calgary Airport. It is a fast growing city, with now close to 85,000 people. Currently there is one full-time and one part-time physician working at the clinic.
