ABOUT ONTARIO
Ontario is Canada’s second largest and most populated province at around 13.6 million, and is home to the country’s capital city of Ottawa. The well known city of Toronto is located along the populous northwestern shore of Lake Ontario. Ontario boasts many fantastic cities and towns, and the province is surrounded by a series of lakes, the largest being Lake Ontario. Ajax is a town in the eastern part of the Greater Toronto Area, located about 30 minutes from downtown Toronto. It’s proximity to the city, but quiet setting has been attracting many to the area that want to be close to everything, but still feel like they are in a rural setting. Ajax is a progressive, diverse and vibrant waterfront community that prides itself on fostering community inclusion and diversity, and having an environment friendly philosophy.
If you are wanting to capitalize on the fact that Ajax is along the shores of Lake Ontario, there are a number of options for neighbourhoods - Duffins Bay, Discovery Bay, Clover Ridge and Pickering Beach are just some of the neighbourhoods that residents have flocked to in order to capture the views and be close to the beach. Barrie is a beautiful vibrant city that is known as Central Ontario’s premier waterfront city. Bath is a small community about 30 minutes west of the city of Kingston, Bath lies along the shore of a secluded cove. The town has a significant history, and is noted as one of the oldest communities in Ontario. It was founded by United Empire Loyalists after the American Revolution. In 1998, it was amalgamated with nearby Amherst Island and Ernestown to form Loyalist Township. Beeton is one of three urban centres located in the Town of New Tecumseth about an hour drive north of Toronto in the beautiful Simcoe County. Bolton is a community located about 50 kms northwest of Toronto, and is considered part of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). It is the most populous community in Caledon, with Caledon having a population of approximately 75,000, and 28,000 of those residents reside in Bolton. Bracebridge is a much sought-after area for many family looking to escape the big city. It is a picturesque town in the heart of Muskoka, Ontario's premier cottage country located a quick two hours north of Toronto. Cambridge is a unique city in the region of Waterloo with a distinct European look and flair. It has 58km of walking trails, much of it along it’s beautiful Grand River waterfront, which is a Canadian Heritage River. The city has four distinct centres, as it was made up of four smaller communities that amalgamated into one in 1973. Deep River, Ontario is a scenic community on the wooded banks of the Ottawa River and lies opposite the Laurentian Mountains and the Province of Quebec. Owen Sound is a beautiful, green city that is the largest urban community in Grey County with a population of more than 21,000 residents, located in the northern area of Southern Ontario. Vineland is a charming community the heart of the fruit growing belt of the Niagara Region, located close to the southern shore of Lake Ontario.
